| More about Race Without A Trace: |
Endurance Magazine is committed to improving the environment and reversing the negative impacts on climate change. To that end, we are rolling out the “Race Without A Trace” initiative that will serve as a basis for all events to empower and enable our collective communities to embrace positive change in our attitudes toward environmental sustainabilty. Our production plan includes an evaluation of every aspect of our events business to identify where waste and carbon impact can be minimized.
Our role in this endeavor is to create as much influence as possible – via those who participate in our events as well as other event producers – ultimately creating agents of change across our endurance sports community.
All of our efforts will be chronicled on our “Race Without A Trace”/ Go Green! website (www.endurancemag.com/go-green) to be used as an example of ‘Best Practices” for event directors and businesses across our region and beyond.
Perpetual Progress for “Race Without A Trace” best practices
To enable the creation of new ideas and best practices for our entire community, the “Race Without A Trace” initiative will leverage digital forums to continuously evaluate the best ways to be more “green” as an event production company, and, in turn, share ideas/information with other event production companies to help them be a catalyst for change.
We welcome you to join us in creating a more sustainable community.

| How CO2 offsets are calculated?: |
The average car gets 20 miles per gallon. It costs $.10 to offset the CO2 emissions from a single gallon of gas.
Assuming each event has approximately 500 participants that drive about 40 event-related miles on the weekend of the race, that's a total of 20,000 miles.
By dividing the 20,000 miles by 20 miles per gallon, you arrive at 1000 gallons of gas used per event. That means it only takes $100 to offset the CO2 emissions of 1000 gallons of gas. Each $3.00 carbon offset purchase goes a long way towards making that a reality.
To truly be a "carbon-neutral" event we MUST offset our event-related carbon emissions. Of course, limiting the emissions to begin with by carpooling helps a lot also.
We welcome you to join us in creating a more sustainable community. Purchase your carbon offset for only $3.00 today!

| A small purchase makes a BIG difference!: |
According to TerraPass, a $3.00 carbon offset purchase results in 600 lbs of verified CO2 emissions reductions! |
| Why TerraPass?: |
Endurance Magazine’s Race Without A Trace initiative is proudly supported by TerraPass. Endurance Magazine purchases carbon offsets from TerraPass in order to balance out the many tons of CO2 that are emitted as participants drive to and from the race, as well as packet pick-up. Help Endurance Magazine and Terra Pass to “restore the balance” by making a small, but meaningful, purchase today! |
