This spectacular course starts and finishes at Lake James State Park, at the new Paddys Creek area, in Nebo, N.C. near Morganton. The 50k, 30k and 10k courses ascend from paved and gravel roads to rugged single track trails in the Pisgah National Forest, along the Linville Gorge Wilderness area on the Mountains-To-Sea Trail, the "Grand Canyon of the East", up Shortoff Mountain, the ridge line to the summit of Tablerock Mountain, and back. Breathtaking scenery throughout. The start/finish logistics are easy. Plenty of schwag and surprises at the finish. Local hotels and camping nearby. This course area is spectacularly scenic and remote. This route has been described as "The most rugged trail in the SouthEast." The 10k is on paved and gravel roads so that anyone can enjoy themselves. However, the 50k and 30k will test any trail runner. Our motto is "Run it if you can." The 50k can also be a Relay Team of 2-6 runners.
