The 5th annual Cleft Palate Gallop 5K run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 9 AM. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers. A family fun walk of ~1.2 miles in length will also be offered.

All registrants will receive a t-shirt. T-shirts may be picked up on race day. If you are unable to pick up your t-shirt on race day, you will be charged to have it shipped to you.

Online registration will end on Friday, September 7th, 2012, at 5PM. In-person registration will be available the morning of the race for $20 (instead of $15 for pre-registering).

The running route will be the Franklin 5K, a USATF-certified course. The course map is available at:

The race start location is the Old Well on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. An approximate address is:

After the race, Triangle Area Dental Services (TADS) will be sponsoring a BBQ catered by The Q-Shack from 11 AM-12:30 PM. Tickets for the BBQ are $10 and will include pulled pork, pulled chicken, 3 sides/fixins, dessert, and drinks. Money raised from the BBQ will also go to support the UNC Craniofacial Center. On-line registration for the BBQ will be until September 7, 2012 at 5 PM. BBQ tickets will be available day-of at the same price of $10.

The Cleft Palate Gallop is organized by students of the UNC School of Dentistry. All profits from the race will be donated to the UNC Craniofacial Center to help cover the treatment costs of children with cleft lip or cleft palate.
